Description

[1]  From Wythenshawe Hall take the clearly marked hard path out of the park towards Wythenshawe Road. There is a very nice woodland path to the right, take this, you are now walking parallel with the main road towards the motorway. Exit this path at the entrance on the left (look out for lovely sculpture on the right).  Turn immediate left and walk down to the pedestrian lights crossing the main road, turn right and walk up to a narrow path after the Quaker Meeting House. Turn left.

[2]  Walk along this path (motorway on your right) towards the walkway over the motorway. Carry on straight ahead, motorway on your right. Veering slightly left down to the end and turn right under the four motorway bridges (take care here as buses come down this slip road).  At the end of the motorway bridges you will see ahead of you a gate and stile entering Kenworthy Woods.

[3]  Walk ahead along a wide tarmac path through Kenworthy Woods (note: there is a community orchard on the right). At the end you cross over the bridge over the River Mersey and enter Chorlton Water Park on your right. Turn left at the lake along a clear hard path and proceed to walk around the lake. Three quarters way round there are picnic tables, toilets and sometimes an ice cream van! Continue to follow this path round to where you entered the park.

[4] Retrace the path back to Wythenshawe Hall.
