Route Summary Separated by Dyche Lane, Jordanthorpe and Batemoor are two mainly council-owned communities in south Sheffield, close to the boundary with Derbyshire. These walks start from the Health Centre, centrally situated alongside the community shopping precinct.

Description

[1] Leave the Health Centre through the car park entrance, cross Dyche Road and walk along Ormond Road.

[2] Turn left into Ormond Way and left again along Hazelbarrow Road.

[3] Just after passing Hazelbarrow Drive on the left, turn right into Hazelbarrow Crescent. 

(A) In a short while you will see a children’s playground off to your right. There are seats and tables here.

Return and continue along Hazelbarrow Crescent.

[4] Immediately beyond a disused car park blocked off by boulders, branch left along the walkway which is before a row of houses. The walkway passes the end of Selly Oak Grove - continue ahead on the walkway and in time you will meet a road (Jordanthorpe Green), where you turn right.  Continue along  the road and just before reaching the main road (Jordanthorpe Parkway), turn right along the walkway - Lingfoot Walk.

[5] Continue on the walkway and turn left at the T-junction of paths. Pass Boundary Social Club on your left. Then turn right along the walkway opposite the pedestrian crossing and left into Lingfoot Crescent. Continue to the junction.

[6] Cross the road (Dyche Road, not signed), pass to the left of the closed Jordanthorpe pub and bear right into the shopping precinct. Pass the Coop and continue back to the Health Centre.
