[1] Turn left out of the Centre and turn right along Coleridge Road. Turn left just before the traffic lights to join the Sheffield & Tinsley Canal towpath. Descend the steps or use the walkway on the far side and cross both bridges over the canal and then the railway. Turn left along the cycle path and follow this around the edge of the Don Valley Stadium.
[2] Turn left along Worksop Road and pass beneath the bridges. The road is now Darnall Road.
For a shorter walk, turn left along Allende Way. Follow it to the end, turn left along Coleridge Road and right back to the centre.
Meanwhile, continue along the main road and turn right on Bridport Road, between the Sportsman and the Albert Inn.
[3] Enter the Darnall Community Park, turn right and immediately left by the bollard bearing a mosaic of bees. Follow the footpath through the nature area. Rejoining the tarmac, turn right then left in front of the orange structure and leave the park through the green barrier.
Darnall Community Park is well used by the Asian community and is also known as Kashmir Gardens. The bright orange Youth Shelter represents a tiger. The Nature Area with its pathways, seats and mosaic bollards was funded by Lottery money and is used by schools for environmental classes.
[4] Bear right and continue with the tall fire station fence on your left. Enter the cul de sac and turn left along the walkway just past number 17. This rejoins Darnall Road by the side of the Salvation Army. Cross over into Darnall Drive opposite. At the end, continue between the houses and turn right along Basford Drive. Turn left at the junction along Basford Street and right at the bollard into the cul de sac, Harney Close.
[5] Turn left at the end and immediately left again at the play area. Follow the narrow cycle path to the end and come out into Palmer Road. Cross into Clipstone Gardens. Continue along Coleridge Road passing the school on your left and Allende Way back to Tinsley Park Road and the centre.
