Route Developer: Hellen Judge
[1] Exit Forest Close turning left at the bottom of the drive and head along Middlewood Road. Cross over to the other side of the road immediately ahead, turn left and walk up Stockarth Lane.
[2] Continue up the pavement until around the corner. Eventually the pavement will end and you will be walking on a country road – (Caution: beware of oncoming traffic). Continue walking uphill.
[3] You will come to a sign for Public Right of Way on your left hand side - take this route up uneven woodland all the way up to the top until you come out onto Worrall Road. Turn left and walk along Worrall Road. (Caution: The pathway becomes narrow part way down so walk single file).
There is an alternate route from here: When you come to a sign that says Public Right of way on your left you can take this all the way down the fields if you want – (Caution: beware the path is very muddy and you will have to walk down a very steep field part of the way, before you get back onto the footpath). It eventually leads you back to the beginning of Stockarth Lane.
[4] Continue along Worrall Road until you come to the new housing estate on your left.
[5] Turn left onto Queenswood Road, right onto Queenswood Gate and then left onto Queenswood Drive. Walk down Queenswood Drive, cross over the road to your right and continue down, turning left onto Middlewood Drive. Walk all the way down as the road curves to the right onto Middlewood Drive East, passing Glenwood Court on your right and Kingswood Hall on your left.
[6] Turn left onto Northwood Drive until a junction leads to a small cul-de-sac with a path leading off on the left. Follow the path all the way down to behind the Fairlawns Medical Centre, taking the path and going through the A-gate back onto Middlewood Road. Cross over the road ahead, turn left and walk back towards Forest Close.
