[1] Turn right out of the depot along Staniforth Road and first right again before the All Tools store. Walk ahead, follow the Supertram sign and cross the canal bridge. Cross the tram track then the road and continue ahead following the sign for Don Valley Stadium. Cross the road and continue along the dual purpose walkway and cycle track. Go straight on at the fork and pass to the right of the play area, where there is also a large piece of street sculpture in the form of old steelworks equipment. Continue down Britnall Street and turn right on to Worksop Road.
[2] Cross over to the green bollards and bear right on the cycle path following the perimeter of the Don Valley Stadium. You are entering East End Park, constructed between 1987 and 1991 on 55 acres of the old Brown Bayleys Steelworks. It contains many of the facilities built for the 1991 World Student Games, like the stadium and Arena and more recent ones like Ice Sheffield and the English Institute of Sport.
[3] Continue on the path on the right of the stadium until the main path splits into five. Here take the first path on the right (it looks like a lay by!) and go over the yellow and green bridge which crosses both the tram and railway lines. Then go up the steps to a second bridge which crosses the canal. After the sign at Shirland Road footbridge, pass under the bridge and take the next turning left at the green post. Turn left and retrace your steps to the depot.
