[1] From the church, head southwest along Main Street towards Brooksby. Turn left along Hoby Road.
[2] Taking care, cross straight over the busy A607 and enter Brooksby Melton College. Follow the footpath round to the right and then go straight ahead. Continue on the road as it bears right and then left. At Spinney Dairy, go straight ahead through a gate and up a track. Follow markers for the Midshires Way, staying on the path as it turns left. At the path junction continue following the path straight on. For a while it becomes a broad, hedged path.
[3] Arrive at Rotherby Lane and turn right. Continue following Rotherby Road, passing the entrance to Carlton Lodge Farm on the left. Entering Gaddesby, ignore Pasture Lane on the left and go straight ahead down Park Hill, which becomes Main Street. Just beyond the entrance to Gaddesby Hall on the left, take the footpath to the left. As you reach Gaddesby Church, bear right and quickly left across the end of Church Lane. (The church entrance is on the left.)
[4] Continue to a path junction and turn left, joining the Leicestershire Round. The path is sometimes indicated by yellow-topped waymark posts. On reaching a road, turn right and go approximately 150 metres. Just past a house driveway on the left, the footpath continues through a gap in the hedge. Bear right across the field and exit through a metal gate. For a while the route may not be easy to find if the fields have recently been ploughed. Taking care, cross the busy A607 again, turn right and continue on the Leicestershire Round about 30 metres on the left. The path goes downhill and over two stiles to reach a road.
[5] Turn right and walk along Rotherby Lane into Frisby-on-the-Wreake. At the junction with Main Street an old pillar with a stepped base is on the left and the Bell Inn is on the right, bear left along the road for a few metres and turn left onto the footpath by a yellow-painted house with a red door. Go through a gate to the left of the house labelled '1 The Cedars' and emerge into open fields, where the Leicestershire Round waymarkers resume. Care may be required if cattle are in the fields, especially if they are accompanied by calves.
Cross a minor road and immediately reach a point where the paths divide. Take the left-hand option, along the Leicestershire Round towards Rotherby. Shortly before a road, there is a path junction. The path straight ahead leads to a dead end, so take the Leicestershire Round to the right and immediately leave it through the gate on the left. Go a short distance to the the road (Main Street, Rotherby) and turn right. Continue along Main Street until you reach the start point.
