Getting there

Holmcroft Community Centre is on bus route 10 between Stafford town centre and Parkside, which runs every 15 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, and hourly on Sundays.

Outbound from the town centre:

Take the bus from the end of Gaolgate, on the right. Get off at the stop marked “Holmcroft Road”. On the timetable this is called ”Holmcroft adj Young Avenue”.

Walk back along Holmcroft Road to the main road (Stone Road). Cross at the lights and walk ahead down North Avenue. Take the first left into Newland Avenue. The Community Centre is 100 metres on the right .

Inbound from Parkside:

Get off at the stop marked “North Avenue”. On the timetable this is called “Holmcroft adj North Avenue”. Walk back along Stone Road and take the first right into North Avenue. Take the first left into Newland Avenue. The Community Centre is 100 metres on the right .

If you come on the bus you will arrive on the line of route and won't need to go to the Community Centre.

Description

[1] Leave the Community Centre and turn left into Newland Avenue.

[2] At the end of the road turn right and go down North Avenue to the main road (Stone Road).

[3] Cross at the lights and keep going straight on down Holmcroft Road, past First Avenue and Second Avenue.

[4] You will come to North End Community Centre on the right. Turn and retrace your steps back to the Holmcroft Community Centre.

If you wish to extend your walk keep on past North End Community Centre and the Holmcroft Surgery and Pharmacy. Immediately afterwards turn right down the wide path opposite the zebra crossing (NOT the drive to the pharmacy). Go past the library. There is grass to the left and a playground, but no seats. At the end on the right is the entrance to playing fields, which have a strange orange and blue seat / shelter which is excruciatingly uncomfortable!

When you have had enough exercise retrace your steps the the Community Centre.
