Getting there

There is ample car parking in Burton Square, including disabled parking. The Church Centre is served by bus route 8 from Chell Road in the centre of Stafford to Moss Pit. The stops are on John Amery Drive at the junction with Burton Square. At the time of writing buses operate every 15 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays and hourly on Sundays.

Description

[1] Leave the Church Centre by the entrance on Burton Square and turn right. Cross the road to the Post Office. Walk past the Post Office and the row of shops next to it.

[2] Turn right through an open space with trees. Go to the right of the low brick building ahead of you (Pinkys Nail Bar).

There are two pharmacies here. You are now on Merreys Road. To the left of you across the road is the library, to the right is Rising Brook Joint Doctors Practice.

[3] Carefully cross Merrey Road (unsigned) onto the grassed area opposite. Walk straight ahead from the single tree until you reach the fence line then go straight ahead down the paved path between houses to Hesketh Road. Turn left.

If you don't want to cross the grass cross Merrey Road then turn right and go to the junction with John Amery Drive. Turn left down John Amery Drive, pass the John Amery Drive Surgery (over the road) and go past a service road to some garages, then take the next left along Hesketh Road.

[4] Follow Hesketh road round to the left. Cross the service road to some garages. Where the road turns right follow the footpath to the left towards the library but immediately cross Merrey Road onto the right hand pavement of the (unnamed) service road of the shopping centre.

[5] At the end of the service road turn left into Burton Square and return to the start.
