[2] At the end of the subway turn left to follow the path up to where it forks. Take the right hand path towards some houses.

[3] When the path merges with a road (Little Pynchons), keep to the left hand path and follow the road as it bends to the left to reach a T-junction.

[4] Turn left and walk along this road, crossing it at a safe point and passing Pear Tree Mead School on the right to reach another T-junction.

[5] Turn right into Trotters Road and follow it with the school on the right. Cross the road at a safe point and continue until the road bends round to the right and there is a post box on the left..

[6] Just after the post box turn left to walk along Latton Common Road passing Harlow Town British Legion club on the right and Crabbe Farm on the left. Continue, with Latton Common on the right, crossing Upper Mealines, until reaching a cycle track sign on the left, by a green dog bin, just before a large brick house.

POI information

A Latton Common

Latton was an ancient parish bounded east by Harlow and west by Netteswell. Like Netteswell it was a long, narrow parish, extending south from the river Stort.  In 1949 its northern and central parts were merged in Harlow parish as part of the designated area of Harlow town, while the southern part was transferred to North Weald Bassett. The common is a large area of grassland, with a small wooded area.

The Health Centre is named after the poet John Keats who trained as a doctor. The Keats poem Ode to a Grecian Urn provided the artist with a starting point. The sculpture is viewed mainly from the two separate doctors' surgeries on either side of the atrium, with text from two other Keats poems carved in relief on each part, a complete quotation being visible from either surgery.
