This walk has a number of busy roads, please take care when crossing and walking beside them. Use pedestrian crossings where possible.
Some of the pavements and paths are uneven in places - take care.
[1] Starting at the main entrance, facing the car parks, cross the left-hand zebra crossing and continue forward to the hospital access road. Cross at the zebra crossing on your left then go left. The pavement turns right to reach the Support Shop.
[2] Just past the shop turn left onto a path which leads back to the hospital access road. Go right to the traffic lights on Glenfrith Way.
[3] Turn left over the pedestrian crossing to walk along Glenfrith Way, crossing Hallgate Drive, to the traffic island.
There is a nice view to the left, over Bradgate Park.
[4] Cross over Anstey Lane at the pedestrian crossing and go right to continue forward along Krefeld Way, using the path to the left of the earth bank.
Beware of cyclists approaching silently from behind.
[5] At the underpass drop down and go left then up the slope and take the main footpath to its end at Orwell Drive.
[6] Turn left. Be careful to keep off the cycle track. Continue forward, crossing over Amadis Road.
[7] Cross over Orwell Drive at the pedestrian crossing. Ignore the gap ahead into the car park, which is for cycles. Instead go left for 40 metres then right over a zebra crossing across the access road then left again and follow the pavement to the shopping centre.
Beware of traffic on the access road coming from the right.
[8] Continue right along the covered way to the Shopping Centre entrance.
[9] Keep on past the entrance and the covered trolley park. Cross the access road towards Matalan and turn right to the traffic island on Orwell Drive.
[10] At the island cross over to the other side of Orwell Drive using the pedestrian refuge in the middle of the road. Be careful of traffic from the right. Turn left and after about 50 metres turn right onto the path through the trees to regain the outbound route. Continue along the path past the underpass, then to the traffic island then along Glenfrith Way and across Hallgate Drive to return to the start.
