POI information

(A) Weymouth Harbour

Long and narrow, Weymouth Harbour is formed from the estuary of the River Wey. The building of the Westham Bridge, by the Swannery, separates the Harbour's backwaters from Radipole Lake. The old harbourside still hosts a fishing fleet. The inner harbour includes a new Marina, which has berthing for pleasure craft, cruisers and sailing boats.

(B) Weymouth Town Bridge

The modern bridge, spanning the harbour, was built in 1930, 350 years after the original one. The present bridge is a lifting one, allowing boats to access the inner harbour.
