Description

[1]  Turn right out of the surgery and walk up Astrid Way to the Esplanade.

[2] At the corner of Astrid Way, turn right, do not cross the road, and follow the path until the corner of King Street.

[3] Turn right and follow King Street past the railway station. Walk ahead past Kwik Fit to the junction with the main road, Radipole Park Drive. Cross this busy road safely by the pedestrian crossing ahead of you.

[4] Walk across the Radipole car park to the RSPB Centre building on the far side of the car park. Take time to explore this visitor centre and have a look at the wildlife on the water. An optional extra would be to cross the small bridge to the right of the centre and take a short walk into the reserve.

[5] From the RSPB Centre building join the footpath which leads around the car park along the waterfront. Bear left and head towards the car park exit.

 Use the pedestrian crossing to turn right and return to King Street. Continue down King Street until you reach the Esplanade. 

[6] Turn left and follow the path until you reach Astrid Place. Turn left and the a short distance ahead will be the Surgery.

A. RSPB Centre

The reserve looks out over Radipole Lake with lots of bird watching opportunities. Many common birds and lesser known species visit the area, including summer visitors like reed, sedge and grasshopper warblers. The visitor centre is open daily with family activities available. There are a number of different walks within the reserve with points of interest along the way and picnic spots. The visitor centre will guide you.
