[1] Turn left onto the graveled path immediately after the car park. Follow this route for a distance.
[2] At the Blue House Gill Nature Reserve, keep to your right and walk along the path straight ahead. You will walk past an industrial estate on your left after a distance.
[3] You will exit the footpath onto a tarmac road. Turn left and walk along allotments on your right and follow it to exit the allotments.
[4] Follow the industrial estate road up until you reach the first road on your right. Turn into it and follow it for a distance.
[5] You will see a blue sign with “Blackhall shops” on your right. Follow the grassy path to your right and walk it along until you reach the coast. At the end of the path, turn right to follow the path and to walk along the coast.
Take care when walking as there are many nettles and thorns on the side of the path.
[6] Follow the path along the coast. A couple of paths will turn into a wide one. Follow this until you see three obvious paths. Take the furthest left one to go down to the beach.
[7] Walk down to the beach.
Take care when walking down as it is a steep hill with steep steps at the end. It might also be muddy on the steps.
[8] On the beach, turn right to walk back. Enjoy the scenery! You will follow the beach for a distance.
[9] You will see an obvious path on your right. Follow this steep path up to the cliffs.
Take care as the path is very steep.
[10] You will reach a tarmac road / parking space. Follow the road up to your right. At the junction turn right to return to the starting point.
Blackhall Community Centre was opened in 1988. Since then it provides a lot of activities for the people living in and around the village. They offer a great fitness suite, bowls, and dancing. Just to name a few. Furthermore, on 17th June 2012, the Olympic torch came through Blackhall Colliery and was carried by four different torchbearers.
