[1] Turn left, with County Hall behind you, and walk up to a graveled footpath to walk towards Durham Light Infantry Museum (DLI).
[2] When the path forks, bear left and walk downhill (take care on the steps). At the bottom, turn left and walk along a wooded area on your right.
When you take the alternative route, turn right at the bottom of the steps and walk towards the DLI museum. Follow the sign 'DLI museum car park' to the left and walk up the road. At the end of the road, there are two gates. Go through the left one. After a short distance, you will see some steps on your left. Follow this path uphill as it leads you through the woods. After a distance you will reach a meadow. Turn sharp right here to follow the Jubilee Walk. You are back on track now at Waypoint 4.
[3] Turn right in the wooded area to follow the Jubilee Walk uphill through a meadow.
[4] On top, turn right to follow an obvious path which will take you around. You will see panoramic views over the Durham Valley and Cathedral from up here.
[5] The path brings you around to a tarmac road. Turn right onto the tarmac road and go through the yellow gate. Turn left on the road. You will pass the Rivergreen building on your right.
[6] Follow the road when it goes left. You will pass the Police HQ on your right. After the Police HQ, the footpath will fork out, turn left and cross the road.
[7] Follow the track next to the Salvus building which is on your right.
[8] You will pass Bowls fields on your right and other not used playing fields on your left. Walk through the gate in front of you and go down the steps. At the end, turn right.
Take care as the steps are steep.
[9] Walk along County Hall and turn left, when the building ends to get back to the starting point.
Watch out for cars on this road as there is no pavement.
