Description

[1] Turn right in front of the Community Centre and turn left into 'High Street'. Follow this road for a distance.

[2] Turn left into 'Cuthbert Road' and immediately right to follow 'St Edwards Close'. Walk down the side-street with garages on your right.

[3] After the second garage, turn right and you will see a grassy footpath leading along the churchyard wall. Follow this footpath until the end.

[4] In front of the wall, turn left to go through a gate into the churchyard. Follow the path around to the right, when it leads you past the small church and out of the churchyard. Follow the path when you exit the churchyard and turn left in front of the 'Square and Compass' pub.

[5] Follow this road as it leads you underneath a railway bridge and further into Coxhoe. Stay on this path for a distance.

[6] At the end of the road, you will reach a main road. Cross the road and turn left on the other side. Walk on the pavement for a distance.

Take care when crossing this road.

[7] After a while you will see a public footpath sign on the other side of the road. Cross the road, go over the stile and follow the graveled footpath through the fields.

[8] Cross the beck over a small bridge and stay on the left side of the hedge to follow a narrow footpath leading up to houses.

[9] Climb the small hill and go through the gate. Turn right on the narrow footpath next to the old railway tracks. Follow this path for a distance.

Take care at the small hill as it is steep.

[10] After a while, you will see a tarmac path on your left, go over the grass and step onto the tarmac footpath to follow it further in the same direction as before.

[11] At the end of the path, turn left to walk up the street and back to the Community Centre.
