This walk has a number of busy roads, please take care when crossing and walking beside them. Use pedestrian crossings where possible. Some of the pavements are uneven in places - take care.
[1] From Bewcastle Sure Start turn left along Bewcastle Grove. Cross Border Drive and continue ahead to the end of Bewcastle Grove, there turning right onto Belgrave Boulevard. Continue forward past Wheatland Road to to where the road bends right. Take the path left to cross Red Hill Way at the pedestrian crossing. Having crossed over, you arrive on Cashmore View road.
[2] Cross over and walk ahead, parallel with the busy Beaumont Leys Lane on your left. Keep to the left-hand pavement and Cashmore View eventually joins Beaumont Leys Lane. Continue forward to reach the first pedestrian crossing.
[3] Cross over. On the far side, turn right to walk back along Beaumont Leys Lane.After a short way turn left onto Butterwick Drive and then immediately left onto the path through the houses to Cross Hedges Close, passing the end of Collett Road.
[4] At the end turn left onto Cross Hedges Close and continue forward into the park, ignoring the first path left. Turn right at the next path junction onto Glovers Walk. Continue ahead and you will soon see a children's play area on your left (A). Take time out for play in the play area before resuming your walk along Glovers Walk to Butterwick Drive.
[5] Turn right along Butterwick Drive, crossing side roads (Lime Grove Close and Cross Hedges Close) with care. When you see a footpath on the left side of the road, where the road bends right, cross over to follow the path to Krefield Way (busy main road).
[6] Cross Krefield Road with great care, using the central reservation. After crossing turn right and follow the pavement beside Beaumont Leys Lane to the pedestrian island by Leycroft Road. Cross over then turn right, back along Beaumont Leys Lane.
[7] Turn left into Belgrave Boulevard and then left along Holderness Road. Cross Bewcastle Grove and turn left to return to the centre.
