[1] This walk starts at The Bridge Hotel at Stanford Bridge. Park in the car park which is opposite the pub then facing the pub turn right crossing the River Teme to the road. Turn right and take care crossing the road. Just past farm shop, turn left to go up drive to Stanford Court [Tall trees both sides of drive] Look out for footpath on the right near the end of the drive. Go over stile and turn left follow field boundary around to the left then go over another stile on left. Head towards church on the hill going through two more gates.
[2] Facing the church follow bridleway to a wooden gate on your left. Head towards the left hand corner of field and go through another gate. Staying parallel with woods head southeast to another gate. Then head uphill to a stile in left-hand corner. Go over stile [ Don't go through gate further up hill which is a bridleway] Follow footpath along, then turn right going uphill until you soon reach a track. Turn left and follow track for about 0.5 miles, jgnoring several woodland tracks to left or right, steadily climbing until the track levels out. A little after the track curves right you come to a crossroads of tracks. Take the waymarked route to the left for about 500 yards heading downhill to a stile next to a farm gate.
[3] Go over stile and head uphill going through a gate in the right hand corner. Go through gate and head slightly left (waymark suggests wrongly you should go straight ahead) to another gate at the top of field. Go straight ahead to road. Turn right and continue along road for about 400 yards before taking the next road left past Kiln cottages towards Yearston Court. Go through farmyard to stile, then head diagonally across field to right hand corner. Go through kissing gate and continue straight ahead through gates to road. Cross road and continue straight ahead over stile going downhill over another stile on right, then over a further stile on left. This brings you to a small lake at Sapey Brook. Turn left up driveway over brook and through gateway, turning left onto road.
[4] Go straight ahead, ignoring first road and footpath to your right for about 600 yards to the end of road. Cross over the road (B4203) to continue up a tarmac drive opposite towards Tippins Farm. At stone gate posts go left over stile and continue up sunken green lane. Go over stile and continue straight ahead keeping the hedge on your right over a stile and through a gate. Head south slightly left across middle of field and go through a gate, heading towards left of isolated trees in middle of field towards Burton Court. When you reach a gateway onto a track at Burton Court, do a left U turn in the same field and go diagonally on the bridleway heading north (and slowly leaving to your left the path you have just used) to the far right hand corner of this large field.
[5] The bridleway near this corner has been obstructed (reported many times since 2005) by a wire fence to your right which you need to negotiate (climb with great care or trespass to find gateways). In field on the right of this obstructing wire fence go through gate in another fence to your front. Continue forward slowly descending towards the wood and stream at right hand side of field, looking out for a footpath leading to a footbridge. Over footbridge continue uphill through woodland keeping left to a gate in about 500 yards. Go through gate, by house and up a track to a road. Turn left along road then in 150 yards right down a quiet no through lane. Continue down lane and through gate and to junction of many footpaths/bridleways at bottom of field.Turn left, keeping the hedge on your right. Continue on bridleway through gateway and then follow hedge on your left downhill and through small gate. [Don't take footpath to your diagonal right heading downhill.] When you cross a footbridge, take the footpath to the right heading uphill not the one following the brook. Go over stile out of wood and continue uphill heading north towards edge of wood straight ahead.
[6] Because of crops in field on your right keep straight ahead till you meet a track. Turn right onto bridleway, then head downhill keeping to the left of the field. Continue downhill along bridleway on muddy stone farm road for nearly 0.5 miles and go over farm bridge. Then turn right going uphill on same farm road towards farmhouse. Go through gate, then turn left [not way marked] between a long barn and the house. Go through two more gates and continue forward keeping to the right of the field to gate at far end of field. Continue across next field to gateway and rejoin your outward route, but this time you turn right following a fence on your right heading towards left hand side of Stanford Court. Go through farm gate, then past a metal kissing gate, then in the right hand corner is a broken stile. [If too dangerous to get over turn left and keeping fence on the right go through gate on your right.] Then retrace your route back to the pub and don't forget to have a well earned drink.
