Description

[1] Leave Goldieslie Close and turn left into Goldieslie Road. At the crossroads turn right into Highbridge Road. Walk over the railway bridge and then (when safe to do so) cross to the opposite pavement to enter Silvermead Road on the left.

[2] At the end of Silvermead Road, turn left into Western Road. At the crossroads turn left into Station Road and you will continue under the railway bridge, past Wylde Green Station on the left. Continue to the end of Station Road.

The Station was built in 1862. It serves the Reddich to Birmingham New Street and Litchfield line. Until recently there was a nuclear bunker in the area. It was built in 1950 and was to serve Birmingham in the event of a nuclear attack.

[3] Turn left into Birmingham Road. After a couple of hundred yards use the pelican crossing to cross over and enter into Wylde Green Road, immediately opposite. Take the second turning on the left into St Bernards Road. Continue until you reach George Williams House on the corner where you turn left into Pilkington Avenue. At the end of the road, cross over at the lights to the Horse and Jockey pub and walk along Jockey Road.

[4] Turn first left into Goldiesle Road and back to the beginning at Goldieslie Close on the left.
