[1] From car park return to B4219 road and cross. Note the Malvern Water outlet (spout) – known as the Beauchamp Fountain – at the roadside.
[2] Turn left along road and in 25 yards at farm track turn right to farm gate and kissing gate. Follow track for 400m as it curves left uphill. At top of hill continue forward, to the right as track starts to descend into orchard. Almost immediately take steps on your right into wooded area and follow path downhill, with orchard on your left, for 300m to reach kissing gate at end of orchard. Through kissing gate, bear left across small field to footbridge and then follow fence on your left for 200m. Where fence turns left, bear right uphill along a shallow gulley towards right hand end of wood.
Cross stile next to farm gate and continue along farm track that bends left and then right uphill for 400m. Just over the top of the hill follow the track as it turns sharply left and continue on track now going downhill, ignoring track to right to farm house. At the end of the commercial cider buildings (Knight’s Cider) on your right, turn right along track and before a huge black storage tank to your right turn left down some steps in the bank and enter the orchard. Bear diagonally right downhill through the orchard to gap and to the right of small brick building, Cider shop outlet, to gate onto minor road by a road junction. Cross minor road and turn left and at road junction turn right through solid imposing wooden gates into garden Follow driveway past the right hand side of the house, noting pretty lawns and pond on your right. Once past house outbuildings turn left to stile in fence and over stile turn right through two fields and over more stiles to reach main road, A4103.
[3] Cross main road and turn left to go along road, slightly uphill, until you reach a road junction to your left. Just past this junction turn right along narrow alleyway to stile and continue forward to next stile and farm road. Turn left along this farm road and continue through a couple of farm gates and eventually a wood to reach a minor road at the end of the wood. Turn right and follow this minor road for 800m, going past Birchwood Lodge Farm on your right and a stile and footpath on your right, until the road bends left and a driveway continues forward in front of you. Do not go up driveway but turn right over a stile and then bear left to some large trees. Continue forward in next field to kissing gate in far right hand corner. Continue across centre of next field to kissing gate just to the right of the house. Continue forward in wood along track, generally going downhill, and about 300m after track bends to the right, turn left down a way marked path with the cottage garden on your right. At path T junction turn left and soon right to follow path to tarmac lane, Turn left and in about 100m turn right down another footpath (finger post) going steeply downhill.
On reaching another (access) road turn left and follow downhill to substantial, raised footbridge over Leigh Brook. Over footbridge follow path uphill to kissing gate and then cross centre of field, no obvious path, uphill to wood, going past two recently planted and fenced Worcester Black Pear trees, to pedestrian gate at corner of wood. Continue uphill with wood on your left, to another kissing gate into left hand corner of wood. Follow now well used path generally on the same line, do NOT turn right at Knapp Reserve display board, until just before the far side of the wood. At a path fork – the left fork soon becomes a vehicle track - turn right to stay on the path inside the wood for 100m and then turn left at the way mark post to soon find a stile and exit the wood. Continue forward with hedge on your left to another stile and in next field follow hedge on your left until about 100m before the field end, Now bear right across the field to a stile in the railings and a minor road.
[4] Cross road and go up driveway and over stile next to farm gate to your left. Now turn right to follow house gardens and fence on your right to stile in right hand corner of field. Over stile turn left and follow hedge on your left past farm gate in corner and continue in same field with hedge on your left until you come to anther farm gate in another corner. You need to continue forward in the next field but will have to turn left through the first gate and then right through the second farm gate in order to gain access. Now follow hedge on your left until it turns left. Continue forward downhill across field to stile in far corner by left hand end of wood. Over stile continue forward past pond on your left and steeply uphill with initially wood and then fence on your right. At top of hill and end of field go through farm gate onto farm track and with Patches Farm buildings to your front.
Turn right and follow track steeply downhill and between high banks for500m. At farm gate on your left (finger post), turn left along green track and in 100m turn right over stile onto path through rough ground. and to another stile by stream. In next field go forward to cross footbridge to the left of the house. Now bear diagonally left to pedestrian gate in far corner and climb bank to farm gate. Continue forward with hedge on your right to stile and then with hedge on your left to another stile. Now cross field to stile next to gate on left hand side of cottage and join minor road. Turn right uphill along road to T junction and then left along road. Almost immediately cross road and go through farm gate. Cross field on grassy track and just before farm gate turn right to follow grass track with hedge on your left. Continue along winding bridleway track, following hedge on left and eventually going through two metal gates to Ashcroft House with its hop kiln. Go along driveway and through another gate and on to road.
[5] Turn right along road. In 50 yards bear left down cul-de-sac lane to Kingshill Cottages. Go through gate at end of lane, by cottages on your right, into an orchard, then straight ahead, ignoring footbridge and stile on your left, to follow a sunken small stream on your left. At end of orchard do not enter wood to your front but cross stream on your left and go through a pedestrian/bridleway gate. Climb bank and follow wood and hedge on your right to go through farm gate. The path continues uphill with initially wood on right to a small gate into next field and then on for another 150 yards to a small metal gate on the right, sometimes hidden in the hedge vegetation. Go through gate to admire a fine barn conversion, now an upmarket house, and turn left onto track and follow hedge on left.
(B) When first seen some ten years ago this house was a substantial but deteriorating barn. The owner has mainly used his own workmen from his farm/orchard business to rebuild the barn into the fine house you now see. Local walkers have watched the slow progress with great interest over the years and have often speculated whether the work would ever be finished. I was privileged to be shown round the ground floor of the house whilst work was on going some three years ago and the quality of materials and workmanship was staggering as was the interior design of the new house.
[6] The track continues gently downhill to pass The Norrest on the left with its many barn conversions and open plan apple and cherry orchards on your right. At far end of the approach road to Norrest, where road curves sharply left at some farm buildings, turn right gently uphill on farm track. In 50 yards go through gap in hedge on your left and diagonally across field on rough track to far right corner, Worcestershire Way, and to the main road A4103 and the New Inn to your right. Cross A4103 and continue forward down brick driveway and over stream to gate. In field continue forward with hedge on your left, ignoring the footbridge and path to your left, to reach gate onto minor road. Cross and continue forward up concrete driveway past stables and follow hedge on your left to kissing gate into orchard. Continue forward with hedge on your left to the end of first orchard and go through gap with a redundant footbridge on your left into second orchard.
Follow track initially left but soon turn right along another track in orchard to pass a bench and to a kissing gate at the far end. Now follow hedge to your left to reach footbridge on your left, cross and go diagonally across small field to kissing gate by right hand corner of wood. In next field (orchard) follow path uphill with wood on your left and, at top, bear left down stone track that eventually curves right and through pedestrian gate to reach road. Turn left along the road and in a few metres cross to enter small car park on your right where your cars are parked.
