[1] Walk along Primrose Square, cross over Alpine Grove and continue straight ahead. After some distance you will come to the impressive St John of Jerusalem Church, across Lauriston Road. Cross and enter the churchyard.
(A) St John of Jerusalem Church: The impressive front entrance to the church, built from Kent stone. The church was built in 1848, the spire is much newer. The original was badly damaged in World War 2.
[2] Head along the path to the left of the church. As you exit the churchyard, cross Church Crescent and head straight ahead into the green space.
[3] This green space is Well Street Common. Take the tarmac path straight ahead, and where it splits take the right hand fork. Follow a line of houses to your right, and then as you pass the end of them turn right, passing the end of one residential street. Keep ahead on the path as it becomes a pavement at Penthurst Road. When you reach the end of Lammas Road. Turn right along Victoria Park Road.
[4] A short way along, cross using the zebra crossing. After crossing go straight ahead into Wetherall Road. Turn left into Iveagh Close. Almost opposite you is a narrow pedestrian path leading to Victoria Park. Pass through the metal gate to enter the park. Turn right along the main perimeter path, crossing Grove Road when you come to it.
[5] Continue into another section of the park, still walking along the perimeter path. Continue along for some distance and stay with the path until you get to railings. Go through the gate in the railings and turn right to Gore Gate. Exit the park through this gate.
[6] Once out of the park; turn left and follow the road until you come to a fork in the road. Take the right fork along Skipworth Road. At the end, there is a zebra crossing just to the right to use to cross straight over Victoria Park Road and continue ahead, still in Skipworth Road. As the road turns left for traffic head right to return to the centre.
