[1] From Hillsborough Supertram stop, walk to the start of Forbes Road, a short distance from The Rawson Srping pub and on the same side of the road. Walk down Forbes Road and continue into Thoresby Road, turn right and walk to the end of the path that curves gently to the right. Walk along this path (the River Loxley is on your right), until you can turn right into Watersmeet Road. In a few minutes you will reach Rivelin Valley Road.
Cross over this road straight ahead (at a safe place), continue forward then cross over the road again. Turn right then left to walk up Loxley Road.
[2] After a short distance you come to a Public Footpath on your left. Follow this path. The ground is uneven. Continue along this path, past the building on your left, past the river and through the wooded area. At the end of the path you will come to a river ahead of you, take the path to the left through the wooded area, ensuring you stay away from the edge. The ground is uneven and has tree roots on the floor. Go over the bridge and up some steep steps. At the top turn left and follow the path through the wood (beware of over hanging tree and further on there is a tree blocking some of the path, so you will need to step over a few branches).

Take a short cut - turn right and walk up the path (beware of lorries coming up and down there is a site entrance) and at the top turn right and walk down Loxley Road. At the bottom cross over the road and go back the way you came to the Supertram stop.
or continue ahead on the path for the longer walk, past horses in the field to your right, continuing ahead past the cluster of houses, until you get to the end of the road. Here turn right and walk up Black Lane (the cemetery will be on your left hand-side). At the top, turn right and walk down Loxley Road, all the way to the bottom, crossing over the road at the bottom, continue ahead, crossing over Rivelin Valley Road onto Watersmeet Road, continue to the end, turn right and walk down the path past the river and along onto Thoresby Road and then Forbes Road to return to the start.
