Getting there

Buses 8,21,24 and 53 stop in Ravenhill Way very close to the pool. The 38 stops in Leagrave High Street, which is a short walk from Pastures Way.

There is a large free car park by the pool and sports facilities.

Description

[1] Walk through the car park past the swimming pool on your left.  The pool has aquafit sessions as well as swimming. You will see the children’s play area through the mature trees to your right. Beyond this are the tennis courts and basketball court.

[2] Carry straight on, passing a private sports club first, then the Lewsey Sports Park. Both are on your left. There is a football pitch to your right. The sports park has a gym, classes and a very good café. The pavement stops here, but carry straight on being careful of cars in the car park until you reach the end of the car park, by a hedge on your left.

[3] Walk carefully up the grassy slope at the end of the hedge and carry on walking, across the grass, in the same direction as you were before. The grass is kept quite short and is the ground is fairly smooth, but take care. There is a fenced asphalt area of 4 small pitches to your right down a slope. Carry on until you reach the next hedge line.

[4] When you come to the hedge turn left. This is an old hedge dating from the time this was a farm and the hedges divided the fields. There are hawthorns, crab apples, dog roses and elderberry growing here. Follow the hedge to its end. You will see houses ahead of you.

[5] Turn left onto a tarmac path, keeping the houses on your right. To your left you now have a clear view, over the park and the hospital, to the hills beyond. Follow this path past the next hedge line, still keeping the houses on your right, until you reach a road (Ravenhill Way).

[6] Turn left and walk downhill along the left hand pavement passing a Nisa local (Molly's Store) on your right. At the T-junction with Pastures Way, turn left back to the pool car park.
