Description

This short walk from the Laurels takes you along residential streets, mainly very quiet, and ends in a small park where there is a cafe and plenty of benches before returning to the Laurels.

[1]  Leaving the Laurels turn left into St Ann's Rd.  Walk past the new block s of flats on the left and turn left into North Grove and then shortly after left again into Ascot Rd.

[2]  At the end of Ascot Rd you are opposite the park. Turn right into Cornwall Rd and take the first right turn into Penrith Rd.  At the end of Penrith Rd turn left into North Grove and then take the first left into Alexandra Rd.

[3]  At the end of Alexandra Rd you are back in Cornwall Rd with Monterey Apartments opposite.  Cross Alexandra Rd and mind the traffic, although there is very little.

[4] Turn right and continue north to Falmer Rd on your left.   At the end of Falmer Rd turn right and then left into Clarence Rd.  A small convenience shop is on the right at the corner with Black Boy Rd.

[5] At Black Boy Rd turn left to the corner gate into the park.  Through the gates keep to the right hand path parallel to Black Boy Rd.

[6] At the end of the path near St Ann's Rd turn left and you will see Chestnuts Cafe ahead.  If you would like a break, stop at the cafe where there are seats inside and benches outside.

[7] When it is time to return, rejoin the same path and carry on past the children's play area.  Exit the park at the main gate into St Ann's Rd. Turn left and continue to Cornwall Rd and the Laurels.
