This walk is safe despite the sometimes busy traffic in St Ann's Rd. Walkers need some stamina as there are no benches along the way. An alternative route to Green Lanes shopping and the Post Office can be added. At the end of the walk is a stop in the Chestnuts Cafe.
[1] Leave the Laurels and cross over Cornwall Rd to the St Ann's Rd pavement along the front of Chestnuts Park. Walk along the length of the park and cross Black Boy Rd.
[2] Continue walking to Riches Rd. Here cross St Ann's Rd to Warwick Gardens. Continue along this side of St Ann's Rd to Cleveland Gardens.
If you would like a longer walk that takes in Green Lanes shopping and the Post Office turn left into Cleveland Gardens and right into Kimberley Gardens up to Green Lanes and then back down Salisbury Rd to meet St Ann's Rd.
[3] After Cleveland Gardens continue along St Ann's Rd to the traffic lights at the junction with Salisbury Rd and Woodlands Park Rd. Cross St Ann's Rd to the other side and walk back towards the park and the Laurels.
[4] At Black Boy Road cross over and enter the park.
[5] Follow the path towards the well-marked Chestnuts Cafe where you can stop for a seat indoors or out, and refreshments. After your break continue on the same path past the children's play area to the exit at the corner with Cornwall Rd. Cross to the Laurels.
