A. Greenhill Gardens
These gardens are recognised as one of the best green spaces in the country, awarded Green Flag status based on how safe, clean, accessible, well managed and welcoming they are. The gardens have winding paths and boast a floral clock and brightly coloured borders in summer .
B. The Pier Bandstand, The Esplanade
Officially opened in 1939, the bandstand consisted of a two storied block on the Promenade, with a deck extending out to sea. This deck had a seating capacity of nearly 2,400 and was open in the centre with glazed shelters around the sides, leading to a bandstand at the seaward end. The deck was demolished in 1986, leaving the entrance, which now houses amusements and a restaurant.
