Getting there

Car parking available in St Michaels Church car park when activities at the Hall.  Also parking outside St Michael's Middle School, nearby in Colehill Lane.

Bus-stops for Wilts & Dorset no.13 route to Wimborne and Bournemouth in nearby Wimborne Road.

 

Description

[1] From St Michaels Church Hall leave the car park on Colehill Lane, turning right to walk past the Youth Centre and St Michaels Middle School entrance on your right. Continue until reaching the crossroads where there is a bench on the right. One may wish to cross the road to take a closer look at Colehill War Memorial on the left.

(A) Colehill War Memorial commemorates both World Wars. http://www.francisfrith.com/colehill/photos/the-war-memorial-1923_74777/. This website shows the memorial in 1923 and a photograph of  St Michael's Church and another local scene in 1908.

[2] Follow the path onto Wimborne Road on the right till past Beaucroft School

[3] Turn right into Cobbs Lane and look to the left about half way up to see two huge pigs in a field. Continue to the T- junction.

(B) Pigs can make interesting pets. http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/potbelliedpigs/a/pbpexpect.htm

[4] Turn right to pass the back of Beaucroft School grounds on the right and enter the woods. Follow the track that leads straight ahead, ignoring the path off to the left. Continue along the track bearing left and ignoring tracks to the right and you will join Colehill Lane where you can turn left to return to St Michaels Church Hall.
