Description

[1] Walk away from the Black Lion Pub along the Village Green. Turn left into Rectory Row at the end of the Village Green.

[2] Walk along the street until you reach Ceddesfield Hall on your right. Turn into the car park and take the footpath to your far right which leads you to the park below Ceddesfield Hall. Follow the path along until you reach an obvious path after a house on your left. Turn left and follow the path to the duck pond.

[3] At the end of the pond, turn right and right again to walk around the lake. Walk back on the opposite side of the pond. Follow the path around which will bear left and lead you to a housing estate.

[4] Turn left in front of the houses and turn right after a short while to walk around the green space. At the end of the green space, turn left to follow the path around. Follow it out of the housing estate. You will reach a road at the end.

[5] Turn right down the road. In the left corner you will see a hidden public footpath sign. Follow it. The path will lead you over fields. Follow it straight ahead until you reach a gate. Go through the gate. You are now at a major road.

[6] Turn left on the pavement and follow the road until it bears left back into Sedgefield. There is a cul-de-sac on the other side of the major road. Cross the road and follow the street which will take you to a farm.

Be very careful crossing the road as it is busy!

[7] Follow the street which will take you past houses. Follow it further along until you reach a black gate. Go around it and follow the road to the end.

Keep an eye out for cars as there is no pavement.

[8] You will reach a major road again. Cross directly over to reach a graveled road which leads up to Neasless Farm. Follow this road around until it bears left. There will be a way leading onto the field on your right. Follow the path onto the field.

[9] Walk over the field along the trees and walk to the back of the field to reach a wooden fence. Turn right at the fence to follow it along until you reach a stile to exit the field.

Take care as the field may be muddy.

[10] Turn left to walk up to another farm. At the end of the graveled path you will reach a road. Turn right to follow it around until the end.

Watch out for cars as there is no pavement.

[11] Turn right at the road and follow it for a distance. You will cross over a bridge over a major road. Walk up the street until you come to a T junction. Turn right there to walk back to the starting point at the Village Green.
