Description

[1]  Turn left outside the Village Hall and continue all the way down the hill and along the old dual carriageway, Leicester Road, crossing Bluebell Drive at the mini-roundabout.

Take care crossing Bluebell Drive.

[2]  Turn left at the next junction into Anstey Lane then, after a short distance, turn first right onto Branting Hill and continue to its end.

The route can be shortened at this point by crossing Anstey Lane then crossing right over Leicester Road before the traffic island and turning right onto Sacheverall Way to continue at [6].

[3]  Turn right onto the path and continue to its end on Leicester Road.  Turn sharp left and go to the centre of the bridge (which crosses the A46) and cross over when safe.

The A46 bridge carries a busy road.  Take care and cross at the centre of the bridge for good views of traffic both ways.

Follow the pavement, which turns right to Overdale Avenue.  Cross over and follow the pavement left towards the old Groby Road. Go first right into Overdale Avenue.

[4]  After the car parking space cross over and take the path to old Groby Road then cross again to enter the Glenfield Millenium Green (A).  Take either the clockwise or anti-clockwise paths to return to the entrance.  Cross the roads and turn right to retrace your steps onto the A46 bridge. Don't cross over. Instead keep on over the bridge to the traffic island and cross to the right over Sacheverell Way at the pedestrian refuge. Turn left.

[5]  Continue forward along Sacheverell Way for about 1 kilometre.

This is a very busy junction - take care when crossing the road

[6]  Turn right through the gate onto Stamford Memorial Park (B).  Turn left on the path and continue around the perimeter to exit the park via the car park in the far left corner. Turn left onto Sycamore Drive and bear right to the end of the road. Turn right onto Pymm Lee Lane then take the second left onto Flaxfield Close.  Turn left at the 'T' junction, then after 20 metres cross the road and take the path in front.

[7]  At the end turn right onto Crane Ley Road and continue to the crossroads with Ratby Road. Turn right to reach Markfield Road at the Stamford Arms then cross over and turn right to return to the Village Hall.
