[1] Take the footpath on your left at the end of the car park which leads you along the road and coast towards Nose's Point.
[2] At Nose's Point, follow the graveled path further as it leads you uphill. Ignore the other paths that lead off the main path. The wide graveled path will lead you away from the coast, around to the left and back to the coast again.
[3] Walk towards the coast and turn right at the end to follow the Heritage Coast Trail which you enter through a gate. Follow this path for a long distance.
[4] You will see a pond on your left. Turn left after the pond and walk on the grass to get to an obvious path along the coast. Follow this path for a long distance.
Be careful when walking close to the cliff.
[5] You will reach Hive Beach and a path on your right which will lead you back to the Heritage Coast Trail. In front of the railway, turn right to walk along the obvious path and back in the direction of Seaham.
[6] You will walk past the pond again (this time on your right). Follow the path until the path forks. Bear left and walk uphill. Follow this path for a long distance.
[7] You will get back on the wide graveled path when you go through a gate. Turn left here and follow the path back to the starting point.
Seaham has produced several gifted footballers: Terry Fenwick and Brian Marwood both played for England. Brian Marwood worked as a commentator for Sky Sports after his career as a footballer. There was a Seaham Wednesday FC that existed for only 10 years. The club provided opportunities for footballers who lived or worked in Seaham and could not play on the weekend due to their work.
Besides football and many other sports activities such as cricket, bowls and rugby, Seaham also holds an annual Town Council Sea Angling Championship in November.
