Starting from Herne Hill Rd Surgery, 1-3, Herne Hill Rd, SE24 0AU.
[1] From the front of the surgery turn left along the left side of Herne Hill Road. Cross Padfield Road, Wanless Road and Kemerton Road. In front of St Saviours School cross Herne Hill Road at pedestrian lights. At the far side turn left.
[2] Cross Hinton Road and then turn right into Deerdale Road. Turn left into Poplar Walk and then right into Lowden Road. Cross Poplar Road and Heron Road, and then turn right through a gate into Milkwood Community Park.
(A) Milkwood Community Park is one of Lambeth Council's two Green Flag Award sites. It first won this prestigious award in 2006 and retained it in 2007. The Green Flag Award celebrates the considerable achievements made by residents and the Council to provide the local community with a green space they are proud of. As well as landscaped areas and new fencing, the Park contains a children's playground, ball games court, seating, shelters and areas for wildlife, play and social interaction. There are information boards in the park.
[3] In the park there is a circular path which you can walk round in either direction if you wish at your leisure. Return to the gate where you entered (to the right of the church). Retrace your steps, turning left into Lowden Road, crossing over Heron Road and Poplar Road and turning left into Poplar Walk.
[4] Go straight ahead down a pedestrian passage (still Poplar Walk) to join Hinton Road just before a road junction. Cross Hinton Road and at the far side turn left and cross Wingmore Road. Cross and turn right along Wanless Road. Turn left into Herne Hill Road and, when safe, cross over Herne Hill Road. At the far side turn left to arrive back at the surgery.
