Description

(A)   Chase End Street is a hamlet to the east of Chase End Hill. At 191m Chase End Hill is the lowest of the Malvern Hills, the most southern and almost certainly the least climbed.

[1] From car parking on the  roadside verge and facing the Malvern Hills, turn left along the road to a bend and turn left through the field entrance just after a cottage on your left. Follow the hedge on your left to the end of the field, turn right at the field corner and go through an access gap in the hedge on the left and follow the hedge on your right to a footbridge. Cross the footbridge and bear diagonally right uphill to a clump of trees and a barn to your front to reach a farm gate onto a road. Turn right down the road and just after a very, very small cottage on your left, turn left down a field access track and pass through three farm gates. In the following field continue forward, with the hedge and pond on your right, to a farm gate. In the next two fields follow the hedge on your left to reach a farm gate on your left. Once through this gate, follow the hedge on your right to a farm gate entrance to a farm yard at Carpenter's Farm. Go through the farm yard and follow the driveway (pond on your left) through a couple of bends and uphill to a road (B4208)

[2]   Cross the road and take a footpath to your front through a farm gate to follow the hedge on your left through two fields. Cross a stile out of a second field and turn right to follow the hedge on your right uphill to a gate on your right. Through the gate, turn left and follow the hedge on your left to a small gate into the next field. In this field follow the hedge on your left until you reach  a gate/stile on your left. At this point turn right across the centre of the field, bearing slightly left as you go over the brow of the hill, until you reach the protruding corner of the hedge. Cross the stile in the hedge and bear diagonally right across the field, using a metal sheet  bridge  to cross the drainage ditch, to the far corner (near M50 Motorway), In corner find a plank bridge to the left of an electric supply pole and steps up to the road (B4208). Cross the road and turn right. Almost immediately turn left through a gap with railings across and down steps to another gate. In the field bear slightly right over the shoulder of the hill to a farm gate and then continue forward across the field to a footbridge in the far fence.

[3].  At the minor road turn right and at a T junction turn left down another minor road. Just after a house on your right, turn right through a farm gate (two footpaths indicated) and bear diagonally left across the field to a stile and nearby farm gate in middle of the hedge to your front. Continue through the stile/gate, and across the centre of the field to the far hedge and now turn right to follow the hedge on your left, crossing two stiles, to a road. Turn left along the road and in a few yards turn right, just past the cottage on your right, through a farm gate. Cross the centre of the field going uphill to a stile and in the next field continue on same line to the stile just to the right of a cottage.

[4].   On the minor road turn left and then up a driveway between cottages to your right. Follow the path through a gate and between a wood and fence, eventually going downhill, to a path on your right opposite a small gate. Turn right uphill on this path, go through a narrow wood and in a field follow the hedge on your right. After 200 yards turn left across the centre of the field to a farm gate to the left of a house in the far hedge. Turn right along the road and in about 300 yards  turn left at a finger post and up a farm road. Where the road turns left at the top of small hill, turn right across the centre of the field towards a gate in the far hedge. In the next field follow the hedge and the edge of a small wood to go downhill towards another wood in the distance. When you reach the end of the field edge go through a small gap in the hedge in the lefthand hedge.Pass through the gap and bear diagonally right across a large field, keeping the single oak tree on your left and a clump of conifers on your right, to a farm gate in a protruding corner of the far hedge. Continue forward diagonally across a small orchard to a gate in the far hedge and, once through it, follow the hedge on your right round to the left and to farm buildings and an access track. Go down the track to reach a minor road and turn right. At road junction continue forward to your vehicle which should now be in sight.
