[1] On leaving the Centre turn right onto Arden Road. Cross over and take the first left along Hampton Road. At the end turn right onto the Fentham Road. Shortly you will arrive at the Birchfield Road. Turn left along the Birchfield Road heading towards the subway before the big roundabout.
[2] Use the subway underneath the Birchfield Road. It is short, well lit and has wheelchair access, although the slope going down is rather steep.
[3] On ascending the subway, turn right continuing back along Birchfield Road in the opposite direction. You will cross Chain Walk on your left.
[4] Turn first left into Johnson Street (no road sign) walking past Braywhite & Co Ltd on your left. At the roundabout cross over and continue along Carlyle Road. There is a children’s playground on the right.
[5] Turn right into Archibald Road. At the end turn right into Finch Road and continue along as the road bends to your left. There is another children’s playground here.
[6] Turn right into Heathfield Road. Look at the lovely murals on the houses by Wilson Road to your right.
[7] Cross over the Birchfield Road under the motorway using the pedestrian crossing. Turn immediately right along the Birchfield Road past the row of shops on your left. Turn first left into Arden Road and continue back to the start of the walk.
